Winning the SLB in 2009, my first at the Bay

 

Rugby highlight in your role:

Beating Hammies & Maties in 2010 and finishing third in SLA that year

 

Favourite Club Player:

Vlam- It’s not often one finds a person who has absolutely no regard for his body…or his team mates’

Van (Justin van Winkel) a False Bay hero. He gets carried on players’ shoulders often.

Family background:

I grew up in Durban (Currie Cup Country). I moved to Cape Town at 12 years old. I am fortunate to have a very close family and have 2 brothers and a sister. I’m married to Taryn and we are blessed with a healthy boy, Jaxon, who is two years old.

 

How do you chill?

Spending time with family, braais with mates, a few Dark Sides, watching sport, running.

 

What are your aspirations for the Bay?

For the platers to perform at their best every week. If we do that, we will win the SLA and succeed in the Gold Cup.

 

What is it about the Bay that inspires you?

Just a really good family environment; friendly and welcoming from day one; no arrogance; no Rock Stars. Just good people. 

 

Who at False Bay inspires you?

The Committee- constantly giving their time for a greater cause. False Bay wouldn’t be where they are now without these guys.

 

What do you do to relax or what are your interests outside of rugby? 

I keep fit; triathlon; running
