The next in our 2023 Sponsor Spotlight series, where we’ll be profiling some of the fantastic partners that work alongside us at False Bay RFC, going a little deeper into their businesses. We sat down with  Branch Manager – Fred Hartwig to learn more about Auto Pedigree and its role in the Motor Vehicle Dealership Industry.

If you could sum up your business in 300 words, what would you say?

Auto Pedigree has been predominantly a Vehicle sales division but has opened Service Centres all around the country with the branch at 309 Main Road being the most recent.

With the “new right to repair” clause and being RMI approved we service all brands of vehicles including vehicles still under warranty but out of service plan.

How did you end up in the Motor Vehicle Industry and describe your current role?

​

Did my apprenticeship and then qualified as a technician and worked my way up to management. Most of that time spent with Toyota.

Who’s your favourite False Bay player, and why?

Just enjoy the sport.

What’s your top sporting memory?

Whenever the Springboks win.

What gets you out of bed in the morning?

Life and being able to enjoy it.

Tell us about the team at your business. How many people work there?

​

We have 7 dedicated staff at the branch and will look to increase as we grow.

How do you measure success as a business?

​

Having a good reputation with clients and being able to build a good client base.

Word of mouth always a winner.

What attracted you most to partnering with False Bay RFC?

​

Friends that have played there and in general good atmosphere

And finally, if you had some advice for someone starting out in your industry, what would it be?

​

If a technician do an apprenticeship qualify and the rest is up to you.
