First Team rugby Steenberg High; Junior Rugby at Strandfontein RFC; False Bay RFC 4ths and 3rds            

 

Position played:

Lock, flank, eighthman, wing and Fullback

 

Rugby philosophy:

I believe that it is a wonderful team game which teaches one to work, respect and trust others. It is a game that teaches Honour, Respect, dignity and many other virtues to hone a true gentleman.

 

Life philosophy:

Respect all, treat one as how you would like to be treated. If I have given you a promise it is my duty to fulfill it. Family is important and love everyone. Stand by your beliefs

 

Rugby highlight as a player:

My highlights as a player, there are many from playing against the great clubs to the unification of rugby in the Western Cape     

 

Rugby highlight in your role:

Highlights in my roles in the club are from seeing top players with the likes of Neil Hugo Dale Santon, Nick Mallet. Fabian Galthie, the growth of the Academy; coaching our female rugby team’ having the opportunity to manage the Under 20's; to the clubs climb and fall and climb again. The many coaches from Henry Monk, Brendon Fogarty, Nick Mallett to Johno V/D Walt

 

Favourite Club Player:

I have many favorites Ridhaa Damon, Riaan and many more but my player who stands out for me is Ryan "Vleis" Olivier

                                     

Favourite Coach:

Coaches I've worked with many from WPRFU, WP Defence, to the club: Nick Mallett, Pieter De Villiers, Kurt Botha, Frans Boshoff, and many more but my present Coach is Johnno van der Walt

 

Family background:

My family life are my Boys, my parents, brother and sister. My boys are my treasure and if I can spend lots of time with them it is all worth it. We live together in our "man cave".

 

How do you chill?

My chill time is around the boys, my favourite TV series and of course watching sport

 

What are your aspirations for the Bay?

My present project is to build a medical structure that rivals the varsities and attracts members to be part of. The club to be continuing its climb to the top and receives the recognition it deserves

 

What is it about the Bay that inspires you?

I'm inspired by the members whom come from various social backgrounds and yet they all form part of a single entity. Working to achieve the best for False Bay

What do you do to relax or what are your interests outside of rugby?

I love the quiet. I love going to theatre with my present "companion" and working on the business I formed with my boys
