At school – Copper , Duracell , of late Magic Mike – Peter from Crocks labelled me that but I am sure it was my wife.

Bergvliet Junior , Wynberg Boys High

 

Rugby or sporting background:

Played any sport I could at Junior school including Archery , Uncle was a Springbok scrumhalf so you can all see where I got my talent from.

Clubs played for:

Defence rugby whilst doing National Service then the Bay since.

 

Position played or role if never played:

Specialist 9 , played many games at 10

 

Rugby philosophy:

You get out what you put in .

 

Life philosophy:

Can’t say I have one but learning from life’s lessons is important.

 

Rugby highlight as a player:

There has to be many but can’t think of one particular one at the moment. Possibly the Nick Mallet era.

 

Rugby highlight in your role:

Having such a lekker bunch of passionate chaps to work with.

Peter Leibbrandt ( Crocks )

 

Favourite Coach:

I would be in trouble if I picked one, so I am going with ALL of them.

 

Family background / make up (if you want to share this):

Last of 6 kids, 3 sisters, 2 brothers. Married with 2 daughters aged 5 & 10.

 

How do you chill?

Being at home, on the couch watching something good on the box.

 

What are your aspirations for the Bay?

To continue doing well in all leagues for all teams. Ensure strong player depth.

 

What is it about the Bay that inspires you?

The people

 

Who at False Bay inspires you?

Again there are many, our President for one. I enjoy humble people who just get on with the job at hand.

 

What do you do to relax or what are your interests outside of rugby?

My biggest interest outside rugby is family & work. Getting away for a few days every few months always helps to recharge the battery.
