Education (School, Tertiary) – Wynberg Boys High School

 

Rugby or sporting background - Played Rugby, Squash and Cricket at School.

 

Clubs played for - UCT U20's, False Bay U20's, Most of the False Bay senior sides

 

Position played or role if never played – Tighthead and loosehead prop

 

Rugby philosophy - It's a cliche, but on the field you are playing for your mates, so do your best.

 

Life philosophy - Enjoy it

Rugby highlight as a player - Playing for the First side in 2006.

 

Favourite Club Player - Marc Davids, Brendon Shields, Justin Van Winkel and Bob Fabre. For more than a decade these guys have all been synonymous with False Bay.

 

Favourite Coach - Brendan Fogarty

 

Family background / make up (if you want to share this) - My Dad was a keen rugby player and my mother played and coached both hockey and netball.

 

How do you chill? - Quiet time with my wife.

 

What is it about the Bay that inspires you? - Great vibes both on and off the field.  

 

Who at False Bay inspires you? - Wayne James (my current coach), and all the people at the Bay who give of their own time to enable us to play.

 

What do you do to relax or what are your interests outside of rugby? - Enjoy relaxing with family and friends and any traveling.

 

Which club do you enjoy playing against and why? - Hamiltons and Villagers have always been the most enjoyable. Those clubs have a similar gees to our own. 

 

What is your Dream Sports event, one you would most like to attend? - Hong Kong 7's

 

Your favourite rugby moment? - False Bay's promotion back into the Super League in 2009. 

 

Your most embarrassing rugby memory? - On a 30 + meter maul off a lineout. The opposition decided that pulling down my pants would be the most effective way of stopping the drive. When that didn't work they decided to go for my underpants. At that point I called it and hit the deck.

 

Who is your funniest team mate? - Brad Van Deventer
