FALSE BAY KIDS GET THEIR OWN JERSEYS
Over the last number of years, False Bay have had different groups coaching young boys under various brands and banners.
In 2015 it was decided to build our club from grassroot level and thus securing the long term future of our clubs player base by creating a strong identity under our own False Bay RFC Brand. The False Bay RFC Kids Academy program aimed at providing a strong community based rugby skills and coaching program kicked off in February this year with weekly training sessions taking place at the club every Friday at 4 pm.
Along with our club kit suppliers "Summit" we designed the first ever False Bay Kids Academy Jersey and on Wednesday evening after the boys and parents were officially welcomed to the club by Chairman Dr Gareth Jones and Club Captain Marc Davids, 45 of False Bay’s youngest playing members were individually called up and handed their very own Bay Academy Rugby Jersey and training T shirt by False Bay First XV Captain Michael Popmeier and fellow First XV lock Graham "snoopy" Knoop.

The excitement on receiving their new Bay jerseys was clear to see as moments later the field was covered in young boys wearing the distinctive dark green strip.. False Bays youngest member 5 year old Harry Dutton, a second generation False Bay player woke up at 3:45 on Thursday morning much to his dads surprise all dressed up in his Bay kit. Editor’s note: Harry is a Third generation Bay player. His grandfather, Jonathan Golding also played at the Bay.
