Chris Lund 1949-2015

Chris Lund, a popular member of False Bay RFC in the late seventies and early eighties, passed away peacefully in Canada.
Chris played loose forward at the Bay after qualifying as a Physical Education teacher at Rhodes University. He was a master at SACS, teaching Phys Ed, History and biology and a measure of his popularity is the numerous tributes posted on the School’s Facebook page.
Chris was a popular man, full of energy and warmth, well traveled, wise, charismatic and loyal. He will remain in the hearts of all whose lives were honoured by his touch.
He absolutely loved his rugby and continued his involvement with the sport upon emigrating to Canada. He would frequently gather with his South African friends to watch either the Springboks or the Stormers. His passion for his teams and Cape Town was palpable and enduring.
Chris lived a full and happy life; one which was brimming with happiness, success and friends that he adored and who adored him in equal and bountiful measure.
He is survived by his wife Helen, his boys Anthony, Craig and Mark, Helen’s children Charlotte and James, his brothers Martin, David, Jo and Pieter.
